Women's Business Grants - Women's Financial Fund

Ten things that will get your grant application denied
Tip # 7 - Not doing your research

When you find that business grant you believe you are perfect for, make sure you do your research before you apply, because not doing that research could result in your grant application getting overlooked for another one. If it is a yearly business grant, see the types of businesses that have been awarded previously. What type of business are they? How did they use the business grant? If you find similarities between many of them, focus on how you can play up your strengths in similar areas. Research to see who is on the business grant committee. How can your application be appealing to those people as well? Remember any advantage you can have over other applications means that your application has that much more of a chance of being the one who is awarded the grant money.
