17 business plan mistakes that could jeopardize getting a business grant
Tip # 9 - Include a glossary with your business plan

Sure you might know that mesothelioma is a type of cancer or that a Vulcan Tool is a piece of firefighting equipment, but for someone not specifically in your market area, whether it is health care, safety or retail store, not including a glossary at the end of your business plan to explain some of the technical names you use is a big mistake.

Being specific is great, just make sure you aren't being too specific for the audience without giving them the tools to figure out what it is you are talking about without having to Google it. If your business plan is highly technical, you could also include footnotes if it would save someone having to refer to the glossary constantly.
